Street Photography Research - Trent Parke

Trent Parke is a photographer that has inspired me throughout my street photography. I really find the way he uses light to be of interest. Parts of the photograph are either over exposed or underexposed but over all still the photograph works. I looked at the photographs from Dream/Life and Beyond. 1998-2002 and noticed they all had a similar theme running through them. The theme and techniques Parke had used is all to do with the lighting.

"AUSTRALIA. Sydney. An elderly man dressed in white walks into harsh sunlight in a tunnel under Circular Quay railway station. From Dream/Life series. 2001." - Trent Parke. I think this photograph is one of my favourites out of Parke's work. I love the way the man illuminates the centre of the photograph causing almost a type of angel effect upon the photograph.
